How "Ethical" Factory Farming with AI Locks in Future Animal Peril
Amber Elise Sheldon is a fifth-year PhD candidate and Laurence A. Bloom Summer Research Fellow at the Boston University department of philosophy. Her dissertation examines novel challenges in animal ethics that emerge with the development of advanced contemporary technologies. As an ethicist and philosopher of mind, she is primarily interested in what makes consciousness matter in the moral sense. She is also interested in nonhuman-animal intelligence, particularly the question of whether certain animals experience aesthetic value. Above all, Amber Sheldon endeavors to further devote her life’s work as a researcher and teacher to improving the lives of animals.
