Wladimir Alonso is a biologist and epidemiologist with over two decades of research experience spanning evolution, animal behavior, animal welfare, and global health. Dr. Alonso has collaborated with academic institutions worldwide and has published over 100 scientific studies in peer-reviewed journals. He is the co-founder of the Center for Welfare Metrics and Executive Director of its flagship project the Welfare Footprint, an innovative approach to quantifying animal pain and pleasure. His work encompasses the development of various analytical and visualization tools, with a recent focus on developing AI tools for quantifying animal welfare.
